Botox Cosmetic® & Jeuveau®
-
Botox Cosmetic and Jeuveau are prescription injectable treatments known as neuromodulators or wrinkle relaxers.
They work by temporarily reducing muscle activity in targeted areas, helping soften the appearance of certain expression lines.
At Hera Aesthetics, we offer both options, allowing us to develop treatment plans based on your individual needs, facial anatomy, and aesthetic goals.
-
Both Botox Cosmetic and Jeuveau contain botulinum toxin type A, but they are distinct products with different formulations and FDA-approved uses.
Botox Cosmetic is FDA-approved for several cosmetic treatment areas, including frown lines, forehead lines, and crow's feet.
Jeuveau is FDA-approved for the temporary improvement of moderate-to-severe frown lines between the eyebrows in adults.
While the treatments work in similar ways, they are not identical, and their dosage units are not interchangeable.
Hera will help determine which option is most appropriate for your goals.
-
Our philosophy at Hera is all about enhancing your natural beauty, not changing your expressions.
We focus on thoughtful, personalized treatment that aims to soften lines while maintaining facial harmony and a refreshed appearance.
Results vary based on facial anatomy, dosage, treatment area, and individual response.
-
Wrinkle relaxers may be used to address concerns such as:
Frown lines between the eyebrows
Horizontal forehead lines
Crow's feet around the eyes
Certain other facial concerns, depending on clinical evaluation
FDA-approved uses differ between Botox Cosmetic and Jeuveau. Some aesthetic applications, including lip flips, are considered off-label uses.
Hera will discuss the available options, expected benefits, and potential risks during your consultation.
Our goal isn't to change the way you look. It's to help you feel like the most confident version of yourself.
-
Results generally last approximately 3–4 months, although individual experiences may vary.
Factors such as treatment area, muscle activity, dosage, metabolism, and individual response can affect how long results remain visible.
Regular appointments may help maintain your desired appearance.
-
You may begin noticing improvements within the first several days following treatment.
However, we recommend allowing approximately 10–14 days for your results to fully develop before evaluating the final outcome.
A little patience is part of the process!
-
Most patients describe wrinkle-relaxer injections as a quick pinch or mild discomfort.
The injections use very fine needles, and appointments are typically brief.
If you're nervous about injections or have concerns about discomfort, please let Kathy know. Your comfort is always important to us.
Before Your Botox or Jeuveau Appointment
Preparing for Your Treatment
-
A little preparation can help make your experience as comfortable as possible and may reduce the likelihood of bruising.
We recommend:
Avoiding alcohol for at least 24 hours before treatment.
Eating a meal or light snack before your appointment.
Drinking plenty of water to stay hydrated.
Informing your provider of all medications, vitamins, and supplements you take.
Discussing any medical conditions or previous reactions to injectable treatments.
If you have questions about preparing for your visit, we're always happy to help.
Our goal isn't to change the way you look. It's to help you feel like the most confident version of yourself.
-
Certain medications can increase the likelihood of bruising following injections.
These include nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs), such as:
Aspirin
Ibuprofen (Advil or Motrin)
Naproxen (Aleve)
When medically appropriate, your healthcare provider may recommend avoiding nonessential use of these medications for approximately one week before treatment.
Important: Never discontinue prescribed aspirin, blood thinners, or any other medically necessary medication without approval from the healthcare professional managing that medication.
Please inform Kathy if you take any blood-thinning medications.
-
Item descriSome vitamins and herbal supplements may increase bleeding or bruising risk or interact with medications.
Please let us know if you take:
Vitamin E
Fish oil or Omega-3 supplements
Ginkgo biloba
St. John's wort
Any other herbal supplements or vitamins
We recommend reviewing these with your provider at least one week before treatment.
Do not stop medically recommended supplements without consulting your healthcare professional.ption
-
We recommend avoiding alcohol for at least 24 hours before treatment.
Alcohol may increase the likelihood of bruising, so skipping alcoholic beverages before your appointment is a simple precaution.
-
Yes!
We encourage you to eat a meal or snack and stay well hydrated before your visit.
This may help reduce the possibility of feeling lightheaded during your treatment, particularly if you're nervous about injections.
-
If you're concerned about discomfort, acetaminophen (Tylenol) may be an option when it is safe for you to take.
You may discuss taking it approximately one hour before your appointment with your provider.
Most patients find the injections very tolerable.
-
At Hera Aesthetics, we do not perform elective cosmetic Botox or Jeuveau injections on patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Because available safety information during pregnancy and breastfeeding is limited, we recommend postponing treatment.
Please inform us if you are pregnant, nursing, planning to become pregnant, or believe you may be pregnant.
-
Your safety comes first.
Botox Cosmetic and Jeuveau should not be administered to patients with known hypersensitivity to the product or its ingredients, or an infection at the proposed injection site.
Certain neuromuscular conditions can also increase the risks associated with treatment.
At Hera, we do not provide cosmetic wrinkle-relaxer treatment to patients with certain neuromuscular disorders, including myasthenia gravis.
Please notify us if you have:
Myasthenia gravis
Lambert-Eaton syndrome
ALS or another neuromuscular disorder
Difficulty swallowing or breathing
Muscle weakness or other significant neurological concerns
An active infection near the proposed treatment area
A thorough medical history is essential before treatment.
-
Botox Cosmetic and Jeuveau both contain human albumin.
If you have a known allergy to human albumin, botulinum toxin products, or any other ingredient in the proposed treatment, please notify us before your appointment.
Patients with known hypersensitivity to a product or its ingredients should not receive that product.
-
Please inform us about any relevant medical history, including:
Previous Botox, Jeuveau, or other botulinum toxin treatments
Current prescription and over-the-counter medications
Vitamins, supplements, and herbal products
Allergies or previous reactions to injectable treatments
Recent facial surgery or cosmetic procedures
A history of excessive bruising or bleeding
Difficulty swallowing, speaking, or breathing
Existing facial muscle weakness or eyelid drooping
Any skin infection or irritation around a proposed injection site
Being open about your medical history helps us provide safe, personalized care.
HydraFacial® & Skin Rejuvenation
Healthy Skin. Radiant Confidence.
-
HydraFacial is a noninvasive facial treatment designed to cleanse, exfoliate, extract impurities, and hydrate your skin.
Using specialized technology and customized serums, HydraFacial treatments can help improve the appearance of skin texture, dryness, dullness, and congested pores.
At Hera Aesthetics, we believe healthy, radiant skin begins with individualized care.
-
HydraFacial treatments may help improve the appearance of:
Dry or dehydrated skin
Dullness and lack of radiance
Congested or clogged pores
Uneven-looking skin texture
Uneven skin tone
Fine lines and other visible signs of aging
Treatment options depend on your skin concerns and the products and treatment protocols appropriate for you.
Hera will help determine the best approach for your skin.
-
Most patients find HydraFacial treatments comfortable and relaxing.
You may notice gentle suction and a light exfoliating sensation during the treatment, but significant discomfort is not typically expected.
-
HydraFacial generally requires little to no downtime.
Some patients may experience mild, temporary redness or sensitivity following treatment.
Most people can return to their normal daily activities shortly afterward.
-
Before your appointment, we recommend:
Avoiding excessive sun exposure and tanning.
Informing your provider about recent skin treatments, peels, or laser procedures.
Disclosing any active skin infections, irritation, or open wounds.
Reviewing the use of exfoliating products, retinoids, or prescription skincare medications with your provider.
Arriving with clean skin when possible.
Your provider may recommend temporarily avoiding certain skincare products before your appointment, depending on your skin and treatment plan.
Do not discontinue prescribed medications without consulting your healthcare professional.
-
To help maintain your results and protect your skin:
Keep your skin hydrated.
Use a gentle cleanser and moisturizer.
Apply broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher.
Avoid excessive sun exposure.
Follow your provider's guidance regarding retinoids, exfoliating acids, and other potentially irritating skincare products.
Avoid aggressive exfoliation immediately following treatment.
Hera will provide personalized aftercare instructions based on your skin and the treatment performed.
-
HydraFacial treatments may help improve the overall appearance of skin texture, congestion, and uneven tone.
However, established acne scars, especially deeper or pitted scars, may require other treatment approaches.
During your consultation, Hera can evaluate your concerns and discuss which available treatments or referrals may be most appropriate.
-
Treatment frequency depends on your skin type, concerns, and skincare goals.
Many patients incorporate HydraFacial into a regular monthly skincare routine, while others may benefit from a different schedule.
Hera will help recommend a maintenance plan based on your individual needs.
-
Yes, these treatments can complement one another as part of a personalized aesthetic care plan.
However, proper timing and treatment order are important.
If you're interested in scheduling multiple services, please let Hera know so we can recommend an appropriate treatment sequence and spacing between appointments.
